英语小故事:巨人杰弗瑞

　　巨人杰弗瑞有很多的朋友。大家都很喜欢他，因为他很善良。他很喜欢帮助朋友。

　　If Peter"s ball got stuck in the tree, Jeffery would get it down. "Thanks, Jeffery." "Oh you"re welcome, Peter."
　　如果彼得的球挂到树上，杰弗瑞就会把它拿下来。“谢谢你，杰弗瑞。”“不客气，彼得。”

　　If Mary hurt herself, Jeffery would carry her home. "Oh! My leg!" "Mary, are you OK? Here let me help you up." "Ouch! It hurts. I can"t walk." "I"ll take you home." "Thanks, Jeffery."

　　One day Jeffery came home early. He sat down under the biggest tree he could find. He didn"t want to be at the playground anymore. "I am too big to play with my friends," said Jeffery to himself.
　　有一天杰弗瑞很早就回家了。他坐在一棵特别大的树下。他再也不想在操场上玩了。“我个头太大了，不能跟朋友们一起玩。”杰弗瑞自言自语道。

　　"Hi, my name is Eddy. I"m new here. Do you want to play with me?" Jeffery didn"t look up. He kept his head hidden in his hands. "I"m too big to play with anyone," cried Jeffery.
　　“嗨，我叫埃迪。我是新来的。你愿意跟我一起玩吗？”杰弗瑞没有抬头看他。他依然用手捂着头。“我个头太大了，不能跟任何人玩。”杰弗瑞哭着说。

　　"I don"t think you"re that big," said Eddy. "Really?" asked Jeffery hopefully.
　　“我并不认为你很大。”埃迪说。“真的吗？”杰弗瑞满怀希望的问。

　　"Yes, really," said Eddy. "You"re big like me." Jeffery took his head out of his hands. "Oh, hi," said Jeffery shyly. "My name is Jeffery."
　　“是真的。”埃迪说，“你和我一样大。”杰弗瑞把头从手里伸出来。“哦，你好，”杰弗瑞害羞的说，“我叫杰弗瑞。”

　　Eddy smiled. "See, I am big. Why were you crying, Jeffery?" "Oh, I was crying because I am too big to play with my friends."
　　埃迪笑着说：“看，我很大呀。你为什么哭呢，杰弗瑞？”“哦，我哭是因为我太大了没有办法跟朋友们一起玩。”

　　"You"re not too big," said Eddy. "Their games are just too small. Let"s go to the playground together and I"ll show you how to make their games bigger."
　　“你不大，”埃迪说，“他们的游戏太小了。我们一起去操场吧，让我告诉你怎么让他们的游戏变大。”

　　Jeffery and Eddy went to the playground together, and Jeffery learned how to play bigger games.
　　杰弗瑞和埃迪一起来到操场，杰弗瑞学会了如何玩大游戏。

　　Jeffery and Eddy became best friends. They had fun with the other children too. Jeffery was glad to have such a big friend.
